The Design Process

A simple guide to understanding how the design process works. Clients can use as much or as little of the process as they need, some may be happy with just a consultation, other may require more in-depth design and implementations. Whatever the case, I'm here to help.

Introdion Call

After contacting me through my website, I'll phone you initially confirm you details and schedule a full one hour phone or video call. This call is to enable us to get to know each other properly, discuss your project and my services in detail, before booking the consultation.

Consultation & Proposal

The consultation is where we start building your design together, it can be as simple as advice choosing colours or how to arrange furniture, BUT its main purpose is to establish the broad strokes of an in-depth design with a  proposal sketching out the design, timescale and cost.

Design & Presentation

Once you've accepted the proposal. I'll get to work in earnest turning the rough sketches into a fully detailed and sourced plan. This will take some time and I will be in regular contact with you regarding details and decisions. At the end I'll present the plans and go through them with you, as well as printing them in booklet for you to keep.

Implementation & Snagging

The last stage is where the design gets put into practice, with furnishing to buy and work to be done. Some clients may prefer to be hands off and have me manage this for them, while others are happier to take an active roll in which case I will always be available to consult regarding unforeseen issues or changes through to completion.

Geographic Location

Whilst I work remotely anywhere in the UK, IF you need the in person touch I cover much of East cheshire and parts of Derbyshire, Staffordshire and Shropshire including Nantwhich, Knutsford, Macclesfield and Stone. Further areas covered (in darker green) are Buxton, Market Drayton and Ashbourne but may incur an additional £15 travel fee for consultations.

Interior Design

Making a space into a room, I will enable you to get the room you not only want but deserve. A classic interior service focusing on colour, patterns, lighting, finishes and furniture.

Bespoke Furniture & Fittings.

Why settle for off the shelf? I can design you custom furniture, fittings, wall panelling and much much more. With three dimensional images and detailed construction drawings.

Space Planning

More than just restyling a room, space planning is the art of moving walls to create better, more useable spaces which comfortably flows from one room to the next, solving the underlying design issues built into the spaces.

Kitchen Design

Need a new kitchen but want something better then you get from a 'sales designer'? I'll create a fantastic new kitchen design just for you based on exactly what you want, NOT what will bring the most commission for me.

Prices

This table will give you an idea of the types of prices charged for my services. Once a price and scope is agreed it will not change regardless of if the project takes more work then originally thought to complete. Prices are paid with a 10% deposit in advance and the balance payable within one month of completion.

Consultation

Site Visit

An up to two hour site visit (which can be combined with a consultation) where we can discuss your project in detaill and start planning it out, I'll be measuring in detail and seeing which ideas appeal, taking the best forward into a proposal if it hasn't already be made. This service is also great for those who need advice and guidance but are not looking for a full design project.

 Standard Design

Geared for core type interior designs: This package suites those wishing to update their space without making heavy weight changes or needing more then a decorator. Includes 3 sourced items.

Advanced Design

Ideal for more detailed schemes: This package is for clients wanting to explore their design with 3D digital models before starting work. With a more comprehensive set of plans and sourcing giving you peace of mind and a guaranteed fantastic finish. Includes 5 sourced items.

Premium Design

Perfect for complex and ambitious projects: If your planning on moving doors, changing layouts or making major alterations to the built environment this is for you. Using a detailed 3D model and extensive sourcing you can have a design which not only looks stunning, but solves those BIG issues about your home. Includes 10 sourced items.

Kitchen Design

Everybody wants the perfect kitchen at an affordable price. With me I'll design you the bespoke kitchen of your dreams, and since I workfor you and only you, I'm free to recommend solutions and source items from suppliers the main retailers can't or won't. Kitchen design can be undertaken without a consultation.

Sourcing             (Additional)

I'll provide a list of high quality items sourced for your project from stores and trade only outlets to buy with confidence. Some plans include sourcing a number of items as standard.

Custom Furniture           (Additional)

Completely bespoke furniture designed from scratch, or customised furniture with bespoke upholstery and finishing. Pieces can be just designed or also commissioned and produced.

A fully managed service where I'll handle purchasing the items, the logistics of tradesmen and deliveries for your project as well as snagging and dressing (only available with Advanced or Premium)
